In my case I was shy at the time of application, however could project (I was only 90 hours short of the 500). To most PA programs, because of the increased level of responsibility, the hours gained through PCE roles are generally more valuable than those accumulated through HCE. Many PA programs also have a minimum requirement for PCE hours for applicants to be considered. For example, I applied for a physical therapy aide position and they wanted to hire me but only for part-time at like 14 hours a week. That may have been a good fit for some, but I definitely wanted something closer to full-time to really maximize my hours.
